What is the HPAT?

The Health Professions Admission Test (HPAT) is a compulsory entrance exam for all Irish and EU students applying to study undergraduate medicine at UCD, UCC, TCD, RCSI and University of Galway. It tests logical reasoning, problem solving and interpersonal understanding — skills that can't be learned from a Leaving Cert textbook. Your HPAT score is added directly to your Leaving Cert points, making it one of the most important exams you'll sit. The good news? With the right preparation, scores can improve significantly — and that's exactly what we're here for.
